BJP Young Leader Ashish Singh Rajput Raises Key Road & Development Issues With LoP Sunil Kumar Sharma

RAMBAN : BJP Young Leader Ashish Singh Rajput met with Hon’ble Leader of Opposition in the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma, and apprised him of several pressing issues concerning road connectivity, landslide restoration, and developmental works in the area.

During the meeting, Ashish highlighted the prolonged delay in the execution of several PMGSY road projects, particularly those awaiting Forest Department No Objection Certificates (NOCs). He pointed out that the absence of timely forest clearances has prevented work from commencing on several sanctioned road projects, causing considerable inconvenience to the local population.

The Gugwal And Maitra to Bilawat Road was specifically highlighted as a matter requiring urgent intervention. Ashish stressed that improving the condition and connectivity of this road is essential for the residents of the surrounding areas and called for expediting the necessary clearances and execution of the pending works.

Taking serious note of the matter, LoP Sunil Kumar Sharma directed the Deputy Commissioner to prepare a comprehensive list detailing all PMGSY roads where Forest NOCs are currently pending, along with their present status, so that the issues can be taken up with the concerned departments and resolved in a time-bound manner.

Ashish also raised the issue of the landslide that occurred last year in Sana village, highlighting the need for permanent restoration of the affected area. In this regard, LoP Sunil Kumar Sharma wrote to the Flood Control and Irrigation Department, directing that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) be prepared for the restoration and protection of the landslide-affected area.

The condition of the Nashri–Sanasar Road was also discussed, with Ashish urging immediate attention towards improving the road's condition and ensuring safe and reliable connectivity for commuters and local residents.

The meeting also covered various other developmental priorities and matters of public interest. Ashish emphasised the need for effective coordination between departments and timely implementation of development projects so that people do not continue to suffer due to administrative delays.

Assuring his support, LoP Sunil Kumar Sharma maintained that genuine public issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities and stressed the importance of ensuring timely action on matters directly affecting public welfare and connectivity.
